8/7/08: This happened a few days ago, I need to write it down before I
forget. I've been trying to point out common short words to Dash so that
he can read them (from memory rather than phonetics). I was pointing out
t-h-e, the. "Here, Dash, learn this word. It's
everywhere." Four or five days later, while reading The Cat in
the Hat, I said "What's this word, Dash?" He said
"Everywhere!"
7/30/08:
Dash jumping on a trampoline (!) at SeaWorld.
As this was recorded on my cel phone you can't see his face and the
sound is messed up.
He was smiling and enjoying it, but as you can see by his stiff legs he
hadn't mastered it. He had fun and was very brave.
We almost did this a few weeks ago at
the fair, but he backed out at the last minute (and we had to eat the $7).
8/4/08:
Overheard Josh working his female
co-instructors at the pool, referring to his YouTube celebrity. I
did catch a subtle undertone that he felt that Dash was "kind of
hogging the camera" a bit much.
Upon review, Dash is certainly more of the focus. We will rectify
this by filming more Josh-only video and posting it under the "JoshPotato"
Youtube channel. Check back in often as we rightfully become more
Josh-centric.
Now to destroy all of Josh's street cred: he's such a nice young
man.
-just joshing, of course.
New video at Youtube from Monday -->
On our way there Dash was describing the previous lesson: "I jump
off the wall and splash and then I swim and get the toy!"
Oh, the joy about the toy. I sometimes think that if it weren't for
the toys...
7/31/08:
Apparently, Thursday is
Eat-Dinner-While-Watching -SeaWorld-Acrobats -and-then-Go-Boat-
Around-the-Ocean Day. We're two for two.
7/30/08: I can't help myself: What's the name of the race horse who was
a real gas?
